Athina Hinson-Boyte received her B.A. in Applied Anthropology and Philosophy in 2014 from UNC Charlotte. In 2015, she began working as an advocate for a non-profit organization serving victims of domestic and sexual violence, where she worked for several years. Her work there inspired her to go to law school.
Athina began her studies at UNC School of Law and after graduating from law school in 2021, she was admitted to the North Carolina Bar. She began working for Legal Aid of North Carolina, first as a generalist staff attorney in an underserved area. After a year, she moved to a different program within Legal Aid of North Carolina, The Child’s Advocate, where she represented children in highly contentious custody actions. In 2024, Athina began working with Sussman Law Firm.
In her free time, Athina can be found reading a good book with one of her cats on her lap – either Thelma or Louise.
